Our Mission:

The mission of the Fort Mojave Tribal Court is to discover and determine truth in legal conflicts arising within the territorial boundaries of the Reservation according to the laws that govern this Tribal Nation. By exercising the judicial powers of the Tribe, the Court implements avenues of resolution that result in fairness, repair relationships, avoid retribution, require appropriate punishment, and seek to rehabilitate and restore balance to individuals and the community.

The Fort Mojave Tribal Court was established in 1977, upon the enactment of the Fort Mojave Law and Order Code. The Fort Mojave Indian Reservation resides within the tri state area of California, Arizona and Nevada along the Colorado River.

The Court of Appeals is the highest Court within the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation. The Court of Appeals hears appeals from the Tribal Court’s trial courts.

The Chief Magistrate of the Court of Appeals, Charlene Jackson, sits on the Court along with two other associate judges, Cornelia Cruz, and Roman Duran.

The Clerk’s Office is ready to assist parties, attorney and the public. We aim to perform our work in an accurate, efficient, and courteous manner. Any questions concerning the Court’s procedures or the status of a particular case pending before the Court should be directed to the Clerk’s Office. Probation Department

Process Server

The Fort Mojave Probation Department office administers and coordinates all activities related to the probation process. The Court places an individual on probation by suspending the individuals sentencing and granting probation supervised for a specific period of time on the assurance of good behavior and to abide by specific court ordered conditions of probation. Individual supervision plans are developed on the probationers needs and risks, to include specific interventions such as, placement in treatment, enrollment into education, and development of job search strategies.

Overview: The Fort Mojave Tribal Probations philosophy is that the offenders should be held strictly responsible and accountable for their actions while being assisted in facilitating pro-social changes in behavior.

Some of the corrections include: Protecting the community through supervision and incarceration of the offender; deterring criminal behavior through sanctions; encouraging positive changes in the offender’s behavior.

The Fort Mojave Process Server delivers (or serves) legal documents to a defendant or an individual involved in a court case. The process server serves documents in accordance to laws of the Fort Mojave Indian Reservation. For additional information and fees contact (928) 346-5293, Ext 105.

CitePay: Minor traffic citations do not require a court appearance and can simply be paid off before your court date. Paying a citation before the court date is the same as appearing in court and pleading “responsible” (guilty) to the original charge.

Some traffic citations require a court appearance and cannot be paid prior to the court date. If you fail to appear on your court date as required, a warrant may be issued for your arrest or a default judgment may be entered. If your personal court appearance is not required, there are two (2) ways to pay a traffic citation prior to your court date:

Online. You may pay your citation using a credit or debit card by visiting www. CitePay.com. This online payment system uses a third party vendor for secure transactions. There is an additional minor fee for use of this system at the time of payment. Court costs is included with fine amount.
In person. You may pay your citation at the Clerk’s Office, located at 8492 South Highway 95, Mohave Valley, Arizona prior to your court date. You must pay by cashier’s check, or by money order; we do not accept personal checks or cash.
By mail. Make a certified check or money order payable to the Court for the amount shown on the front of your citation. Please verify court cost amount. We do not accept personal checks. Mail your citation to:
